Accommodation and Access
The conference does not arrange accommodation for participants. Please find a hotel appropriate for your budget at major booking sites such as booking.com and hotels.com.
The conference venue is located on the east side of the southern Englischer Garten park. There is a tram stop (Tivolistraße, served by tram line 16) and two bus stops (Tivolistraße and Hirschauerstraße) close to the venue. If you are looking for a hotel near the venue, the Lehel district is in ~15 min. walking distance (but there also is a tram station for line 16). Another option is to look for hotels on the west side of Englischer Garten, near subway station Giselastraße. From there (and the various park entries along its west side), the conference venue can be either reached by taking a pleasant ~15 min. walk through the park or by taking a bus (54 to Lorettoplatz, 58 to CityRing via Ostbahnhof, 154 to Westerlandanger) and get off at Tivolistraße. If you are looking into other options, consider looking around
- subway stations served by the U4 or U5 lines, as these connect to Lehel, from where you can switch to tram 16 or walk,
- subway stations served by U3 if you do not mind changing to a bus at (or walk from) Giselastraße as described above,
- tram stations served by line 16, which have the advantage of a direct connection to Tivolistraße,
- any S-Bahn line, as they all serve the Isartor station, where you can change to tram 16.
For public transportation, you are required to buy a ticket before boarding the train/tram/bus and the ticket price depends on how many zones (“Waben”) you traverse. Getting the number of zones right can be challenging, even for locals. We, thus, recommend using an app for searching connections and buying tickets, e.g., MVV-App or MVGO.
