Excursion location (Fri, Mar 20th): Andechs Monastry
On Friday, Mar 20th, we will offer a (individually self-paid) visit to the Andechs Monastry, which is located south-west of Munich, near the Ammersee lake. We will take the S8 local train that departs 13:24 from Munich main station (alternatively, you can join us from the conference location, from where we start 12:45). We recommend to assemble in the first car of the train in travel direction. From Herrsching, the terminal stop of the train, we will take a 60-90 minutes hike up to Andechs, where we can hopefully enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding area and the Alps and visit the pilgrimage church of the monastry. The Bräustüberl at the monastry features traditional Bavarian dishes, which go along very well with the monastry’s beers.
